Enter Local A: this input listens to the card that does the actual Dolby decoding (it’s one of the other two we don’t worry about here). If we were to switch from Rail 1 to Local A, we’re not listening to the matrix input anymore, but instead we’re listening to the decoded Dolby stream. That way we can access individual channels from within the Dolby stream and present them to our galleries.
Let’s say we switch channels 1-8 from Rail 1 to Local A, then these channels would become the decoded Dolby E stream as discreet channels, while 9-16 are still as incoming via the matrix.
